Vitanote Privacy Policy
In short: Vitanote keeps everything you enter on your phone. Your health information is never uploaded, sold or shared. There is no account and no advertising. The app shares anonymous usage statistics that help us improve it — never your health information — and you can turn this off at any time in Settings.
1. Who we are
Vitanote is an Android app that helps you keep a blood pressure log, take medicines on time and follow an intermittent fasting plan. It is published by an independent developer ("we", "us"). Contact details are at the end of this policy.
2. Information you enter
You may enter:
- blood pressure readings (systolic, diastolic, pulse), the time, notes and whether you had taken your blood pressure medicine;
- medicine names, doses, instructions, schedules and whether each dose was taken or skipped;
- fasting start and end times and your chosen fasting plan;
- reminder times.
This information is stored only in the app's private storage on your device. It is not sent to us or to anyone else, and we have no way to see it.
3. Usage statistics
To understand which features are useful and where people get stuck, Vitanote shares anonymous usage statistics using Google Analytics for Firebase (provided by Google). This is on by default. You can turn it off at any time in Settings → "Share anonymous usage statistics"; turning it off stops collection and deletes the statistics stored on your device.
The statistics record:
- which features you use, for example that a reading was added, a fast was started, a reminder was acted on, a report was exported or the Pro screen was viewed;
- general counts and ranges, for example how many medicines are active or how long a fast lasted in hours (rounded into ranges);
- technical information collected automatically by Firebase: app version, device model, operating system version, approximate country, and a random app-instance identifier.
These statistics never include your blood pressure values, medicine names, doses, notes, the times you take readings or medicines, or anything you type. We do not collect your advertising ID and do not use the statistics for advertising.
Google processes this data on our behalf under the Google Privacy Policy and Firebase privacy information. Statistics are kept for up to 14 months and are used only to understand how the app is used and to improve it. We do not sell or share them.
Apart from these optional statistics, Vitanote contains no advertising, crash-reporting or tracking software and does not require an account.
4. Purchases
Vitanote offers an optional one-time "Pro" upgrade sold through Google Play. Google processes the payment under the Google Privacy Policy. We never receive your name, email address or payment details. The app only asks Google Play whether Pro has been purchased on your account so it can unlock Pro features.
5. Sharing reports
You can choose to export a PDF of your blood pressure, medication or fasting records. The file is created on your device and is shared only with the app or person you pick (for example, your doctor or a family member). We never receive a copy.
6. Permissions
| Permission | Why Vitanote uses it |
|---|---|
| Notifications | To show your blood pressure, medication and fasting reminders. |
| Alarms & reminders (exact alarms) | So medication reminders arrive at the exact minute. You can decline; reminders may then arrive a few minutes late. |
| Run at startup | To restore your reminders after your phone restarts. |
Vitanote does not use your camera, microphone, location, contacts or photos.
7. Data retention and deletion
Your records stay on your device until you delete them. You can delete individual readings, fasts and medicines in the app, or remove all data by uninstalling Vitanote or clearing its storage in your phone's settings. Because we hold no copy, we cannot restore deleted data, so export a PDF of anything you want to keep.
8. Security
Your data is protected by Android's app sandbox, which keeps other apps from reading it. We recommend using a screen lock on your phone.
9. Children
Vitanote is intended for adults aged 18 and over and is not directed at children.
10. Medical disclaimer
Vitanote is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. It records the information you enter and does not measure blood pressure. Always consult a healthcare professional for medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.
11. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date above. If we ever collect anything beyond what is described here, we will say so here and in the app's Google Play Data safety section before the change takes effect.
