Shapely Widgets: Privacy Policy
Effective 2 October 2026 · App package: com.shapely.widgets
What stays on your phone
- Widget content you add: to-dos, notes, habit days, water, counters, countdown dates and widget styles.
- Photos you pick for photo frames or backgrounds: copies are kept inside the app only.
- Contacts you pick: only the name, number and photo of the people you choose, to show them on a widget. The app cannot read your other contacts.
- Calendar (if you allow it): to show your next events and busy days.
- Steps (if you connect Health Connect): today's step count, to show it on the Steps widget.
- Bluetooth devices (if you allow nearby devices): names and battery levels of connected earbuds, watches and other devices.
- Music (if you turn on notification access for the music widget): the song currently playing, its artist and album art. No notification content is read, stored or sent.
- Installed apps: the list of apps you can put on shortcut widgets.
None of this is sent to us or to anyone else.
What leaves your phone
- Weather: the coordinates of the place you choose (rounded to 4 decimals) are sent to MET Norway (api.met.no) to get the forecast. If you use "Use my location", your approximate location is used once to find that place. MET Norway's privacy terms apply to their service.
- Usage statistics: the app uses Google Analytics for Firebase to count how the app is used, for example which widgets and looks are added, which settings are changed, and whether the Pro screen was opened. This includes a random app-instance ID and basic device information (model, Android version, country). It never includes your notes, photos, contacts, places, steps, device names or music. You can switch statistics off at any time in Settings → Usage statistics; this stops collection and deletes the analytics data stored on your phone.
- Purchases: Pro is bought through Google Play. Google handles the payment; the app only checks whether Pro is owned.
- Updates: the app asks Google Play whether a newer version is available.
Health Connect
Shapely Widgets reads only the Steps data type from Health Connect, and only after you allow it, to show today's step count on the Steps widget. It does not write health data, does not send it off your phone, and does not use it for advertising or any other purpose. The use of information received from Health Connect adheres to the Health Connect Permissions policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Advertising and selling data
The app has no ads and no advertising SDK. We do not sell or rent any data, and advertising identifiers are not collected.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Your choices
- Every permission is optional and can be removed in your phone's settings; only the widgets that need it stop showing that information.
- Switch usage statistics off in Settings.
- Uninstalling the app deletes everything it stored on your phone.
- To ask about or delete analytics data linked to your app-instance ID, email us.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
